"Typography isn't only typefaces"

"Due set di pins per chi ama i caratteri tipografici.Il primo, "SANS", che incarna Helvetica e un secondo, "SERIF" interpretato dal Bodoni."

Translations are welcome.

Some cool badges, and CMYK posters with some dominant-but-friendly, stencily rounded chubby type. Nice website too. Here it is infront of my drawing of a waste paper basket. Link.

BADASS MUG

"Coffee, like Helvetica, is an acquired taste. To satisfy both habits, this white ceramic mug features four weights of the timeless font..."

Why don't all mugs have squared handles?!

when designers get angry

If someone repeatedly parks in your designated parking space for your rented house, they've ignored your kind/witty windscreen notes, but have still failed to move their car. What can you do?
Surely there's only option... So Mark thought and after coming home from the pub he searched for some black paint and a brush.
Unfortunately drunken typography wasnt a good idea... notice the 'a' in private.

GEEK T-SHIRTS

A new t-shirt arrived in the post this morning, and I was pretty pleased with it....
  • I did the usual 'hold it up in front of you instead of actually trying it on' thing.
  • Admired the printing detail on the inside label.
  • Was chuffed with a free little badge with the designer's logo on it which was bundled in.
  • Considered wearing it for work....
Then it hit me! I now own several t-shirts, which I would never actually wear to work - because they're way too geeky! It started off with the rather cool Helvetica shirt from blanka (a much appreciated birthday present from Jonny)... This was joined by a CMYK shirt by supreme being from my girlfriend.
Not long after, I discovered another bit of Helveti-gear! This t
ime from collapse deisgn... And now this morning, the new sans-serif shirt from turn nocturnal.

Are these cool? Or am I just a sad geek???

FONTSTRUCTION

Build your own font online with Fonstruct!

Using pre-set shapes on a simple grid, the system can seem really limited at first, but with a bit of inginuity - people have made some pretty decent fonts.

Here's something I wasted an afternoon on:

It started off as monospace - but slowly evolved into some kind of homage to eurostile...
The v took ages.

my document

This unique laptop case was designed by 25togo. It is made out of yellow vinyl and measures 27.3cm x 28.5cm x 3.8cm.
“My Document” series also includes a digital camera case, a music player case, and a wallet.

PANTONE UNIVERSE

One of my favourite shops in Norwich has to be The Perfect Pad.

Purveyor of all things contemporary, kitsch, and all that overpriced household stuff you can't really justify buying. (I'm currently fighting off the urge to spurt £40 on a breadbin). All the usual designers are there: Black & Blum, Joseph Joseph, and SuckUk - being my favourites...

Anyway. They've recently started selling Pantone mugs! I bagged myself an 021C.

"Pantone merchandise?! Heck Yeah!" I hear you all cry. Yesterday's trip to local department store Jarrolds lead to a equally cool discovery of Pantone rulers! Here's mine infront of my work pooter.

Sticking the brand Pantone Universe into google lead me to all kinds of useless pantone stuff I could start to obsessively collect. Horray.

Computer desk is the computer

Taking the top out of desktop, the XYZ computer desk is actually the computer itself, a PC table with ports and optical drive on the side, and plenty of room for expansion and clutter. The screen is a tad small and it's still a pc! looks nice though. Click image to go to link
